Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms
Both male and female patients can present with lower urinary tract symptoms namely frequency, urgency, nocturia (getting up at night), poor flow, hesitancy and terminal dribbling. Read more
Stress incontinence usually affects women after childbirth. A typical history is that they present with urinary leakage on coughing, sneezing, dancing, running or vigorous movement. Read more
Haematuria - Blood in Urine
Haematuria can either be microscopic (i.e. detected with the GPs urinary dipstick) or macroscopic (i.e. the patient sees the blood in the urine themselves), either way Urologists would advise investigation. Read more

Urinary tract infections are more common in females than in males but occur in both men and women. Read more

Prostate Cancer / Raised PSA
An elevated PSA in a gentleman over the age of 40 can indicate prostatitis and enlarged prostate, and sometimes a prostate cancer. Read more
